Mission

To serve as the driving force for environmentally sound design, construction, and development practices in Washington’s cities and communities.

Vision

Built Green will be the norm for residential new construction and remodeling, with the majority of permitted projects obtaining certification.

Values

SUSTAINABILITY - The conservation of resources leads to financial benefits and a higher quality of life, and helps ensure access to those resources by future generations. Built Green’s actions are guided by the aim of protecting and enhancing the ecological richness of our communities.

MARKET FOCUS - Built Green believes the market can act as a powerful force to improve environmental and health outcomes. As such, we encourage voluntary green building incentives that will help shift the market, making green building truly profitable for all rather than simply forced.

INCLUSION - Often, those most impacted by environmental issues are those who have historically been marginalized. Built Green strives to cultivate relationships and strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders in our community to better enhance the sustainability of our region for all of its inhabitants.

EXCELLENCE BY EXAMPLE - Demonstrating excellence inspires others to follow suit. Built Green seeks to serve as an example of continuous improvement, innovation and effectiveness to its members and the community at large.

As a non-profit program, Built Green relies on the generosity and commitment of companies and government agencies for funding. The following sponsors have contributed to Built Green’s success this year:

Become a Sponsor

Since the inception of the Built Green program, funding and substantial in-kind contributions have been provided by the Master Builders Association and program partners, King County and Snohomish County. Other support has been provided by local municipalities, utilities, and companies.

As the Built Green program continues as an important regional industry and sustainability force, both its influence and its funding needs have grown. A small amount of funding comes from program enrollment fees. To accommodate for rapid growth and continued innovative projects, Built Green seeks additional funding to pay for customer outreach, education, data compilation and analysis, policy support, and administrative support.

Sponsorship Levels

Members of the private and public sectors including national, regional, and local providers of green products and services, developers, builders, governmental and non-profit organizations invested in the mission of the Built Green, and associate members of Built Green are all able to be Built Green Sponsors.
