Built Green Multi-Family

The Built Green Multi-Family (BGMF) program is designed to provide developers and builders of Multi-Family projects with a unique opportunity to meet the growing demand for sustainability and better building practice. Homeowners and renters today are more sensitive to issues of water conservation, energy efficiency, durability, comfort and indoor air quality and participating in the Built Green Multi-family program will provide both the technical support and marketing platform to meet that demand.

The Built Green Multi-Family program is currently (2008) in pilot phase. A set of preliminary guidelines is currently being developed by the program in partnership with some of the leading multi-family developers in the state. The pilot participants will be built according to the preliminary guidelines the program sets forth. Through this year-long process the program will follow the pilot projects closely and learn: which practices work well; which practices are innovative and push the envelope; which practices are becoming common place in the industry and which practices do not work. After the pilot phase is completed, we will launch the Built Green Multi-Family program into the public marketplace, at which time builders and developers of multi-family projects will be invited to join the program.
