Winchester, VA - Imagine having an attractive deck that resists harsh weather, is splinter-free, requires no stains or sealants and keeps its long-lasting good looks year after year. Trex® decking and railing products are the perfect solution to the toughest weather conditions -- temperature extremes, intense sunlight and rain and snow.

Manufactured by Trex Company, Inc. (NYSE:TWP) of Winchester, VA, Trex decking and railing will not rot, crack or splinter, due to moisture, UV rays, insects or foot traffic. It is made primarily from recycled plastic grocery bags, reclaimed pallet wrap and waste wood, so it is environmentally sound.

Last year, Trex Company used more than 250 million pounds of recycled and reclaimed plastic and equal amounts of waste wood to manufacture Trex decking. With two manufacturing facilities in Winchester, VA and Fernley, NV, and a third site selected in Olive Branch, MS, the company's need for reclaimed and recycled plastic is greater than ever. The company encourages everyone to bring those plastic grocery sacks back to the supermarket recycling bin!

Trex products are available in five colors. The latest color is Saddle, a rich tan tone. This joins the other colors: Madeira, a reddish-brown, Natural, a driftwood gray shade, Winchester Grey, a deep, rich gray color; and Woodland Brown, which is a medium dark brown. All colors start out in a darker shade and lighten to their final shade after eight to twelve weeks of exposure to sunlight. Trex decking also is available in two finishes. Trex Origins™ has a smooth surface which is perfect for a clean, contemporary look. Trex Accents™ has a wood grained finish for a classic, warm look.

Contractors find that Trex decking and railing profiles are easy to work with and provide unlimited style and design possibilities. Trex products can be worked with regular woodworking tools to create flawless miter cuts and the deck's sides and edges can be routed off to a beautiful finish. And, Trex decking has enough flexibility to create round or octagonal decks as well as many unique angles not possible with other decking lumber. A Trex deck must be gapped width-to-width and end-to-end, because unlike wood, it does not shrink. Check with your authorized Trex dealer for complete gapping instructions or look under "Working with Trex" on the company's website at www.trex.com.

Trex decking is the only decking of its kind to be code-listed by BOCA and SBCCI under National Evaluation Services as well as by ICBO. And, it meets Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards for walking surfaces. Although tough and durable, Trex decking is not intended for structural members such as joists, beams or posts, with the exception of the new Trex® RailPost™, a 4X4 profile used only for railing systems. Trex decking offers superior performance for the deck's surface, skirting and trim and railing components.

With a proven track record in the harshest environments in North America, Trex decking has been used for miles of seaside boardwalk, for the Presidential Trail at Mt. Rushmore and for walkways throughout the Florida Everglades. In Colorado, Trex decking has been used at Sunset Magazine's Idea House at the Timbers in Parker, the Farmhouse environmental house and Thistle Community Housing project in Boulder, and by many Colorado Built Green builders.
